CIVIL AIR PATROL
& AVIATION STUDIES

We have a phenomenal Civil Air Patrol squadron!  CAP is an auxiliary of the US Air Force, with focus on search and rescue, aviation study, and leadership.

Our young cadets are engaged in CAP training, as well as community service, leadership opportunities, and flight experience. Cadets participate in ten flights (five glider, five engine) over the course of their CAP career.

Cadets who earn cadet officer status may enter the Air Force as an E3 (airman first class) rather than E1 (airman basic).

Merit Academy has a large group of students interested in military, pilot, or other aviation careers. To support these interests, not only do we offer Civil Air Patrol, but we are also expanding our aviation and aerospace studies programs.

Through our new Young Eagles program, students participate in flight lessons and classes that prepare them for the FAA technical exams and their pilot's license.

These programs also position students to apply for commercial airline cadet programs directly out of high school, opening opportunities for them to become commercial pilots by the time they are 22 years old!
